My mother will tell you that she always knew I was meant to be a writer; when walking in an Autumnal forest at the age of three, I looked up from stomping and crunching the scattered leaves and said, “Mummy, listen, the leaves are talking.”

But, you don’t have to trust my batty Mum, I can provide something in the way of writerly credentials to back her story: I have an MA in Creative & Transactional Writing from Brunel University, and recently completed my Ph.D. in Creative Writing/English Research at Royal Holloway University of London.

Other fun facts about me: I grew up in Belgium; I directed a play at 17 and started a theatre group for children in the local community; I studied film-making at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles on an 8-week intensive course; I have a passion for photography; I love languages and the study of language; I am an excellent gurner.

It’s easy for a writer to forget to sell themselves to people because, after all, our writing already grants you access to who we are and where we come from and how we think and what we love. But, this is me, and I promise not to disappoint – read my book and you’ll see.
